I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where I grew up writing short stories and recording news shows on VHS whenever I wasn’t wandering through the woods. Years later I boomeranged back to Texas after 5 years in Brooklyn, NY where I started my career after earning a BFA in creative writing from Pratt Institute. Even after living in the Northeast and the South, I don’t fit into any of the ill-fitting stereotypes of either region [read: I still hate football and walk at a normal pace].
I’ve thrived by immersing myself in the narratives that flow through the people, brands, and cultural movements of our world. Right now, I’m a Senior Copywriter on the PayPal team at Media.Monks developing digital and social content for PayPal’s online seller products — PayPal Checkout, Invoicing, and Pay Later. I’ve worked on brands that span financial services, energy, tires and fancy B2B plastics and chemicals. I’m always working on a passion project and my most recent one was The Unwritten Rules Project—an encyclopedia of the unwritten rules that control Black life in America. It even got featured in Adweek.
When I’m not working you can find me brainstorming onstage storytelling show ideas, rushing to an improv jam, watching one of my favorite cult classic movies, or still writing short stories in-between journal entries.
